If you want to test the waters first that is fine, you do not have to have a professional membership to sell you can pay a simple $0.99 for each item you sell. This way if you only sell an average of 10 items a month you do not have to pay the $40 fee. You will get the added bonus of selling with one of the top online retailers, and exposure that comes with it. The additional exposure leads to more sales which lead to earning more money.
Amazon's Ad Program
Selling your products on Amazon is not the only way to go. You have the option of taking advantage of their ad program. The Amazon product ad program is $75.00 to join. The $75.00 will be well spent once you receive the added customers that will be purchasing from your site. You can upload your product catalogue and pricing directly to Amazon's site.
There will be an ad added to all of the pages you have products selling for. It will list your competing price, if the customer clicks on your ad you will pay Amazon a click charge, but the person will end up purchasing the item through you.
Thus generating more sales on your site, and putting extra money in your pocket. It is quite similar to the Google Adwords program. Both of these are great options for helping drive traffic to your website.
